The Final Peanuts

On February 13, 2000, the final Peanuts comic strip was published. In it, the comic strip writer, Charles M. Schulz, announced his retirement. However, Schulz had passed away a few hours earlier, on February 12, at the age of seventy-seven.

“All of a sudden I thought, ‘You know, that poor, poor kid, he never even got to kick the football. What a dirty trick—he never had a chance to kick the football.’”[1]
